Belfair State Park is right on the Hood Canal near Belfair, WA. This state park has some nice little campgrounds right on the beach and is a good place for little first time campers. Kids can have fun on the playground, or ride bikes around the often empty and large sized parking lot. Maybe you want to have a little pick nic as you drive around the hood canal, this would be a perfect place to stop and stretch your legs as you make your way towards other destinations on the hood canal. Belfair state park has some fun beach front property that can get pretty sticky for those venturing out to collect shellfish. It is not uncommon for people to lose a shoe or spend some time trying to get unstuck from the mud so beware.

A nice park by the water. Belfair is 8 miles away with stores, gas & food.

Belfair State Park, which is typical of a lot of state parks in Washington, has a nice campground with RV hookups, paved roads, nice bathroom facilities and helpful park rangers. If you bring an RV you might want to call first if your is really long, most RV’s will be fine but not all camp spots are conducive to the bigger RV’s.
